Role Overview
Our Senior Manager, Qualitative Insights plays a central role in running projects that deliver fresh, strategic insights that get to the heart of questions for healthcare brands and audiences. Working with Client Managers (business development/client relationship owner) and Project Managers (logistics), Senior Insights Managers at Escalent lead the development of insights and storytelling and own the data analysis and reporting phases of our work.
This role can be performed remotely but is likely to involve 25% - 30% travel. This will mostly be domestic but could include international.
Responsibilities
Strategic Thought Leadership:
- Work closely with account managers & project teams to bring strong qualitative thinking on study approaches, methodologies, and discussion exercises that meet client needs and deliver high-quality insight
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem, including patients, HCPs, and broader market dynamics, while continuing to deepen expertise across therapeutic areas and client businesses
- Contribute to Escalent’s broader organizational initiatives by bringing forward innovative ways of working, including new solutions, tools, and approaches that enhance team effectiveness and support the thoughtful implementation and use of AI in qualitative research
Research Execution:
- Own day-to-day execution of qualitative projects and major workstreams from kickoff through delivery, with responsibility for project momentum, quality, and strong client communication throughout
- Partner closely with Project Mangers to oversee timelines, recruitment quality, respondent grids, fieldwork coordination, and collaboration with freelancers to ensure a high-quality executional and client experience
- Develop key study materials, including discussion guides, screeners, respondent criteria, analysis frameworks, note-taking tools, and reporting plans
- In partnership with Senior Strategists/Moderators, participate actively in fieldwork, debriefs, and internal working sessions, helping connect emerging findings to the research objectives and broader business questions
- Experience and/or interest in moderation is a plus
Insights Development:
- Lead analysis, synthesis, and reporting across assigned projects, transforming complex qualitative findings into clear, compelling insight stories and client-ready deliverables
- Deliver findings confidently in debriefs and presentations, helping clients connect the research to brand, portfolio, and business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Advanced degree a plus, particularly in a healthcare-related discipline
- 5-7 years of relevant market research experience, with a strong emphasis on qualitative research in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, or broader Life Sciences sectors
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end qualitative research projects with increasing independence, serving as a trusted day-to-day partner to clients and internal teams
- Strong grounding in qualitative methodologies, including IDIs, focus groups, online qualitative approaches, and AI-enabled customer insight methods appropriate for patients, HCPs, caregivers, and healthcare stakeholders
- Ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas and engage comfortably in patient and HCP vernacular. Experience in oncology, cardiometabolic, rare disease, or other complex therapeutic areas a plus.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills, including the ability to develop executive summaries, reports, and PowerPoint deliverables that are clear, strategic, and actionable
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work
- Demonstrated ability to coach and support more junior team members, while contributing positively to team collaboration and delivery
- Flexibility to work outside of typical business hours; ability to travel domestically and if needed, internationally. Travel expected to be around 25-30%.

- The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000
